Ceuta: more than 88,000 returned to Morocco

The Spanish Civil Guard reported that approximately 88,146 migrants returned to Morocco after entering Ceuta in late July. Judge María Tardón is investigating the mass entry of migrants and has received various reports from agencies like the Civil Guard and National Police. The Civil Guard's report indicates over 80,000 people returned, surpassing previous government figures, and highlights 862 rescues and 90 deaths. The National Police noted they could only account for migrants who expressed a desire to return. Additionally, the Civil Guard warned of increased irregular maritime entries and proposed measures to enhance coastal surveillance. The government announced construction to extend border breakwaters in Ceuta, with work starting on November 17, aimed at preventing unauthorized entries by sea.
