Cinanima launches category with jury of children and young people

The Cinanima Festival in Espinho will feature a jury composed entirely of children and adolescents for the first time in its 50-year history. This new competition focuses on youth films, with 38 entries from 21 countries competing for the Pequeno Golfinho Award. Festival programmers recognized that while children's animation has always been part of the festival, it had not been adequately rewarded. The initiative aims to engage young audiences and enhance their critical thinking and relationship with animated cinema. The jury will consist of local school students from various age groups, including secondary school students involved in the festival's artistic residency.
