One in ten doctors in Poland earns over a million zlotys. The ministry provided new data
The Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffing is collecting data on medical staff salaries to better understand earnings and assist in setting new rates in public healthcare. Initial estimates suggested only a few hundred doctors earned over a million zlotys annually, but recent figures indicate this could exceed 10% of practicing physicians, potentially amounting to thousands. During a Senate meeting, Deputy Minister of Health Tomasz Maciejewski noted that complete data will clarify the actual scale. Additionally, proposed salary caps may not lead to immediate savings for the National Health Fund, as impacts will first be felt by hospitals and clinics.
