Coalitions Voerstreek and Herk & Mombeek are frontrunners in the local Blue Deal and receive more resources

The Voerstreek and Herk & Mombeek coalitions have been designated as leaders for local Blue Deals, receiving support to enhance water quality over the next eight years. The Flemish government selected 25 coalitions, with five receiving additional resources. These coalitions consist of local authorities, knowledge institutions, and organizations focused on water, agriculture, and nature. The selected coalitions will create action plans and receive annual funding of 100,000 euros. Smaller coalitions will work on projects for four years. The initiative aims to improve water availability and quality in Flanders, with a new selection process in 2028.
