Body, science and astrology: Brazilian show ends season in Lisbon this Saturday

Brazilian artist Joana Levi concludes her show "Câncer em Saturno" at Teatro do Bairro Alto in Lisbon on November 7. The final performance at 7:30 PM will include a discussion with the audience as part of the Clube Espectador. The work explores themes of the human body, science, and astrology, drawing from Levi's personal experience with hormonal treatment for breast cancer. Since moving to Lisbon in 2017, she has blended autobiographical elements with scientific theories and philosophical meditation. This performance wraps up a trilogy that began with "Rasante" in 2020 and continued with "Primárias e Exóticas" in 2024. The show incorporates Lynn Margulis's symbiosis concept, linking cellular universes with astrological interpretations. The production features Juliana Calejan from the Imigratoria collective. Tickets are €12, and the event includes Portuguese Sign Language interpretation and audio description.
