Cyber attacks on refrigerators and coolers in Poland. New data and police appeal
Polish police have formed a special team within the Central Bureau for Combating Cybercrime to gather evidence on cyber incidents affecting refrigeration devices. They are collaborating with international partners due to similar attacks in other European countries. Store and wholesale owners are advised to change passwords, update software, and ensure refrigeration units are not accessible via public IP addresses to prevent cyberattacks. Recent incidents in France involved hackers taking control of supermarket refrigeration systems, leading to food spoilage and financial losses. Similar attacks have also been reported in Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
