Four banks must return money to clients. UOKiK issued an important decision

The UOKiK has targeted four banks for their handling of unauthorized transaction claims, where funds were withdrawn without customer consent. The banks, including ING Bank Śląski and Nest Bank, often denied refunds despite legal obligations to return funds promptly unless fraud is suspected. UOKiK's president emphasized that banks cannot evade responsibility by automatically rejecting claims. The banks must revise their practices, reassess customer complaints from November 2022, and inform clients about the process for re-evaluation. They are also required to update their websites and notify customers through mobile apps about these changes.
