'The Ideal World' moves after 10 years from VRT Canvas to VRT 1

The satirical program 'De ideale wereld' is moving from VRT Canvas to VRT 1 next season, filling the slot left by VRT NWS Laat. Ella Leyers will continue as host. After 10 years on Canvas, the show aims to reach a broader audience in the late evening slot. It averages between 100,000 and 200,000 viewers on Canvas, with significant online popularity through snippets on VRT MAX and social media. This transition marks a chance for VRT to reintroduce the talk show format on its main channel. The program previously aired on VRT 1 in spring 2023 and has been a staple on Canvas since 2016, after being created by Jan Eelen in 2013.
