Mass resignations at the U.S. Department of Justice
The U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche has accepted multiple resignations from high-ranking officials, including the Deputy Attorney General for Civil Rights, Harmeet Dhillon. Dhillon was involved in unsuccessful attempts to obtain voter lists from around thirty states. Her resignation letter indicated she had planned to leave in October but stayed until after the midterm elections, which were a setback for Trump's Republicans. Blanche also announced the resignations of John Eisenberg, head of the national security division, and federal prosecutor Jason Reding Quinones, who was investigating alleged conspiracies against Trump. Since Trump's return to the White House in January 2025, several prosecutors have been dismissed for not pursuing targets seen as enemies by Trump.
