Arrested for kidnapping and rape in preventive detention

Two suspects arrested by the Judicial Police in Setúbal for kidnapping and rape will await trial in preventive detention. The Almada Court ordered their detention after they were accused of violently assaulting and threatening a victim they believed was responsible for reporting them, leading to the institutionalization of their two young children. The suspects, a 49-year-old man and his 40-year-old partner, allegedly tied up, assaulted, and raped the victim in their home. The victim managed to escape through a window after the suspects left to buy drugs, later receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the ordeal.
