UMinho leaders and coaches convicted of forgery

The Braga Court sentenced eight officials from the University of Minho's Social Action Services for document forgery related to travel expenses and services not rendered. The offenses occurred between February 26, 2011, and December 17, 2016. The defendants falsified travel itineraries and expense forms to claim reimbursements for trips and services that never took place. They intentionally inflated travel distances to increase the amounts claimed. The court imposed sentences ranging from two years and two months to one year and three months, suspended for the same duration, contingent on donations to social solidarity institutions. Additionally, they must repay the state for the financial benefits gained from their actions.
