PKP Intercity has begun testing satellite internet on trains, receiving positive feedback from passengers. 85% of participants expressed interest in using the service again, with 61% preferring it over standard Wi-Fi. The service allows for work during travel, with 67% of respondents indicating they could utilize their journey for work purposes. Satellite connectivity is available where there is a clear view of the sky, while LTE and 5G networks will cover tunnels and covered stations. If successful, satellite receivers will be installed in all Pendolino trains during major repairs planned for 2028-2029. PKP Intercity aims to implement this technology in Pendolino and eventually in high-speed trains.
