Bone marrow from the Czech Republic saved her life. Now the Frenchwoman has come to Prague by bike
Emma Larrieu-Letová, a French woman diagnosed with leukemia, had a low chance of finding a bone marrow donor in France. Doctors searched international registries and found a match in the Czech Republic. After her recovery, she decided to cycle to the Czech Republic to raise awareness about bone marrow donation. During her journey, she and her partner visited hospitals to encourage young people to register as donors. In France, only 0.6% of the population is registered, compared to 2% in the Czech Republic, which equals about 220,000 potential donors.
