Ecological, but more expensive. Residents of Gryfino will pay more for heating
Since September, heat supply for Gryfino comes from a new gas heating plant built by PGE in Nowe Czarnowo, replacing coal-based production. This shift to a more environmentally friendly technology results in a 27% increase in heating tariffs for residents, approved by the URE president based on production costs. Many families face challenges due to higher bills as the heating season begins, with residents expressing concerns about affordability. The new gas plant, featuring three boilers with a capacity of about 28 MWt, provides heat for approximately 65% of Gryfino's residents and over a hundred public and business facilities.
