The funeral for the 69 victims of the Urda train accident will take place on November 12 at Toledo Cathedral. Archbishop Francisco Cerro Chaves announced that the entire Archdiocese of Toledo will participate to honor the victims and support their families. The ceremony will be led by Cerro Chaves and attended by five bishops from Castilla-La Mancha and Luis Javier Argüello, the president of the Episcopal Conference. Alberto Núñez Feijóo, leader of the Popular Party, confirmed his attendance and expressed hope that other political leaders will join to pay tribute to the victims of the tragedy, which occurred on October 28 when two high-speed trains collided, resulting in 69 fatalities and numerous injuries.
