Elfde van de Elfde gaat toch door in Tilburg: tieners mogen worden geweigerd

The traditional carnival season opening in Tilburg will proceed with new safety measures. Local authorities, the carnival foundation, and hospitality sector reached an agreement on managing underage attendees. The municipality initially wanted free access for minors, while the hospitality sector expressed concerns about intoxicated youths causing safety risks. They agreed to allow the refusal or removal of visitors causing disturbances or appearing under the influence. The municipality has increased the number of NIX18 teams to address underage drinking and will implement additional safety measures during the event. This arrangement will be evaluated after the event to make necessary adjustments for future celebrations.
