Recruited on a patriotic basis – György Nógrádi's sixth card is also public

Documents reveal that György Nógrádi, a Fidesz-affiliated expert, was involved in state security activities under the codename "Raguza". He was previously a member of the MSZMP and worked as a secret agent in youth protection while being a professor at the Technical University. The Open Files website of the Historical Archives of State Security Services (ÁBTL) shows that there are additional records about him, including magnetic tape data. Historian Krisztián Ungváry previously dedicated a podcast to Nógrádi's alleged state security activities, particularly during the 1956 Institute's investigation related to Imre Nagy's reburial. Nógrádi claimed in 2010 that he was not an agent under any alias, but Ungváry argues that two documents indicate he was monitored and assigned tasks by state security, including a mission related to a trip to Germany. However, it remains unclear if his files still exist in the archives.
