In Occitanie, Jean-Michel Baylet still intends to weigh in on the regional scene

On October 22, Laurent Chérubin launched the Union humaniste et républicaine d’Occitanie (UHROC) to revitalize the left radical movement while remaining within the PRG. Chérubin, mayor of Labège, aims to address the diminishing presence of radical left values in national politics. The initiative, supported by Jean-Michel Baylet, seeks to prepare for the 2028 elections with a focus on local representation. Alain Baute emphasized that this movement is not a split but a revival of radical left discourse, aiming to re-establish its voice in regional and national contexts.
