Public schools received 400 new enrollments just last week

The Ministry of Education reported 400 new enrollment requests for public schools last week, many from children not yet in Portugal. Minister Fernando Alexandre highlighted that this trend has been ongoing for years, with many students arriving from countries with different school calendars. He noted that while Portuguese students are placed in schools, some still lack teachers. Alexandre assured that a new monitoring system will provide data on students without classes starting December 14.
