EU disburses over 4 billion euros in budget support to Ukraine
On November 5, the EU announced an additional 4.36 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine, part of a larger 90 billion euro support loan. This disbursement is linked to reforms required by the EU and IMF, with 3.7 billion euros tied to IMF reforms. EU Economy Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis emphasized that this funding reflects Ukraine's commitment to EU accession and economic resilience. The EU also plans to disburse 45 billion euros by 2027, contingent on ongoing reforms, while Ukraine anticipates a 70 billion euro budget shortfall for that year. Other countries, including Norway, the U.K., and Canada, have made significant pledges to support Ukraine.
