False bomb threats on seven planes affect European airports. One of the flights departed from Lisbon.
On November 3, seven flights received bomb threats across Europe, all later deemed false. The incidents affected airports in Poland, Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria, with one flight originating from Lisbon. The first alert came from Poland, where Modlin Airport temporarily closed after a LOT flight from Heathrow landed due to a bomb threat. Other airports, including Warsaw Chopin and Murcia in Spain, also dealt with similar threats but continued operations. In Italy, two Ryanair flights from Lisbon and Dublin landed in Rome under military escort. Bulgarian authorities reported threats against two flights heading to Sofia, which were redirected without finding explosives. These events followed a previous incident involving a Wizz Air flight diverted to Budapest due to a bomb threat.
