France has seen another wave of protests, but this time they are much weaker than before

Recent protests in France against rising living costs and in support of students saw significantly lower participation compared to previous weekends. Organizers claimed 250,000 attendees, while authorities reported 146,000. The demonstrations remained mostly peaceful, though some clashes with police occurred. This decline in turnout contrasts sharply with a nationwide strike on Thursday that drew approximately 1.6 million participants, according to unions. Security forces deployed 70,000 personnel to prevent unrest similar to that seen on October 17. Additionally, a protest organized by the yellow vests near the National Assembly was banned but still attracted around 100 participants before police intervened.
