Gigantic operation by the CBA. 25 people detained in connection with the Ostrołęka power plant

Tomasz Siemoniak announced that the CBA detained 25 individuals related to the Ostrołęka power plant investigation. The operation involves searches across 30 locations in 11 provinces, focusing on actions from 2018-2019 that allegedly caused over 1 billion PLN in damages. The investigation targets mismanagement by board members of Elektrownia Ostrołęka, Enea, and Energa. The Ostrołęka C project faced scrutiny for illegal and wasteful actions, leading to significant financial losses for the involved companies. Plans for the coal block began in 2008, but funding was halted in 2020 due to economic concerns, shifting focus to a gas-fired block instead.
