GNR detains man suspected of setting fire in Alter do Chão

A GNR detained a 68-year-old man in Alter do Chão, Portalegre, for suspected forest fire crimes. The arrest followed an emergency call reporting a fire. Authorities stated the suspect allegedly conducted an unauthorized extensive burn that spiraled out of control, leading to a forest fire. He has been made an accused and the case has been forwarded to the Tribunal de Fronteira.
