Grimbergen has selfie tile: "You have to stand there for the perfect photo with the basilica in the background"

Grimbergen has introduced a selfie tile designed to assist blind and visually impaired individuals in taking photos with the basilica in the background. The tile features footprints indicating the ideal standing position for a perfect selfie. This initiative, part of a broader project by Toerisme Vlaanderen, aims to promote inclusive tourism. The technology allows users to locate the tile and receive audio descriptions of the surroundings via their smartphones. The project will eventually see selfie tiles installed at 24 notable locations across Flanders, including sites in Vlaams-Brabant.
