Diarrheal disease swept through several schools in Nagykanizsa, authorities are investigating the public catering.

A wave of illness characterized by vomiting and diarrhea has affected several educational institutions in Nagykanizsa. Mayor Jácint Horváth indicated that the school catering service might be linked to the outbreak, although no conclusive test results have confirmed this. Reports came from multiple schools, including Hevesi Sándor and Zrínyi Miklós. The catering company, Gasztvitál, notified authorities after the first reports. The Zala County Government Office took samples from the kitchen at Hevesi Sándor and ordered disinfection. While several schools reported illnesses, some did not, and symptoms were noted in individuals not using the catering service.
