Historic change at Jasionka airport. For the first time, it will be protected by this state.

Starting January 1, 2024, France will provide air defense for Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport in Poland, marking a historic first. This airport is crucial for military logistics to Ukraine, with over 80% of military donations passing through it. The French ambassador confirmed that this will be the first deployment of French equipment for this purpose. Previously, the Netherlands extended its military presence in Poland until December 2026, with Patriot defense systems. Following the Dutch mission, French troops will take over the air defense responsibilities at the airport.
