One hundred home seekers can temporarily stay at a estate in Zeist
In Zeist, a hundred people in urgent need of housing will temporarily find shelter at Buitenplaats Veldheim for at least 2.5 years. The municipality aims to address the shortage of social rental homes, which has left many waiting for suitable accommodation. The new residents include students, Ukrainian refugees, and individuals needing temporary housing after separation. The site is not an asylum seeker reception center. The municipality emphasizes the importance of continuing to build new homes while also providing immediate solutions for those in need. Eventually, the estate will become a permanent residential location with around fifty homes, pending further planning and permits.
