"Illene to swim personal bests" – Hubert Kós is preparing for a big shot at the World Championship

The Olympic champion swimmer announced that he is focusing solely on short-course competitions, dedicating more time to the gym and feeling he has improved significantly. In October, he set world records in the 100 and 200 meters backstroke at the final stage of the World Cup series in Toronto. Although he is no longer part of the Texas university team, he aims to achieve personal bests at the World Championships in Beijing. The 23-year-old will compete in three backstroke events (50, 100, 200 meters), as well as the 100 meters butterfly and 200 meters individual medley. Notably, he will be the only Hungarian swimmer participating, as the national team will compete at the US Open during that time.
