Iran: four tankers collided with naval mines in Hormuz
Iran's Revolutionary Guard reported the destruction of four oil tankers due to naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz and claimed to have shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Predator drone. The Guard stated that the tankers were violating orders by attempting to cross a prohibited area. Additionally, two other vessels were intercepted. Iran has closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to U.S. and Israeli actions, asserting that safe passage is only allowed through routes authorized by its armed forces. The U.S. denies any blockade, maintaining military control in the region to ensure oil exports continue.
