Karácsony: A huge development boom is starting in Budapest

Gergely Karácsony announced that the European Investment Bank's loan enabled the renovation of the Chain Bridge amidst previous governmental opposition. He emphasized that with EU funds arriving, numerous developments will commence in Budapest, including major projects like the renewal of Rákosrendező and Diákváros, waterfront improvements, and metro extensions. He apologized for potential temporary difficulties during these developments and requested residents' patience. Karácsony attributed the city's previous lack of access to EU funds to the former government's policies. Political analyst Gábor Török noted that the current government provides just enough support to prevent the city's financial collapse, suggesting that recent agreements have benefited others more than Karácsony.
