Drivers will pay less at stations. New maximum fuel prices announced

On Wednesday, the maximum prices for fuels were set, with gasoline 95 at 6.37 PLN, gasoline 98 at 7.24 PLN, and diesel at 8.05 PLN. The next announcement regarding fuel prices will be published on November 5. This regulation is part of the third phase of the Lower Fuel Prices package aimed at controlling fuel costs for drivers. The law allows for temporary reductions in excise duty and VAT on liquid fuels, funded by a new tax on companies with excessive profits. The package is expected to last until the end of 2026, with an estimated cost of around 5 billion PLN. A 60% tax on excess profits from fuel sales will apply from March 2026 to March 2027, based on revenue exceeding a historical margin from 2025.
