The Deputy Director of the Opera House has been dismissed

Virág Főző's employment as deputy director at the Hungarian State Opera has been terminated due to involvement in irregularities uncovered during an audit. This decision follows the dismissal of Szilveszter Ókovács, the former director, who faced allegations of receiving unauthorized bonuses. The ministry indicated that further investigations may reveal potential criminal activity. Ókovács has publicly disputed the findings of the audit, claiming he was not given a chance to respond to the allegations and considers his dismissal politically motivated, planning to take legal action.
