Key changes in taxes. The second project has been submitted to the Sejm

The government has submitted a draft amendment to income tax laws to the Sejm, aiming to address constitutional concerns. The proposal includes changes to tax rates and thresholds for personal income tax (PIT) and corporate income tax (CIT). It seeks to raise the first PIT threshold from 120,000 to 130,000 PLN and introduce a new 24% rate for incomes between 130,000 and 150,000 PLN. Additionally, the solidarity tax rate will increase from 4% to 5%, and the CIT rate for companies with monthly revenues over 50 million EUR will rise to 22%. The draft also revises the eligibility limit for lump-sum taxation from 2 million to 250,000 EUR. The Senate's amendments raised concerns about constitutionality, prompting the Ministry of Finance to reintroduce the project without the contested changes. The timeline for passing the law is tight, as it must be published before the end of November to take effect.
