Another resignation after the tragedy on Spanish tracks
Spanish media report that de la Pena resigned after over two years in his position, following the transport minister's dismissal. Investigators suggest a serious technical issue with the traffic control system may have contributed to the tragedy on the Madrid-Seville line, overseen by Adif. All victims have been identified, including 54 Spaniards and 15 foreigners. The accident occurred on October 28 when a Renfe train collided with a private Iryo train, resulting in 69 fatalities and 110 injuries.
