The end of the great escape. A life-sentenced murderer returns to prison
Jacob Allen Morley, serving a life sentence for murder, escaped from a Tennessee prison and was later apprehended in Missouri. His escape involved stealing a vehicle and was tracked using license plate technology. Authorities found him hiding in Illinois, and he was arrested without incident. During the arrest, stolen firearms were discovered in the vehicle. Morley was previously convicted for the murder of Cody Birchfield, whose body was found hidden under Morley's home. The Tennessee Department of Corrections had offered a reward for information leading to his capture, which was later increased.
