End of fast scooters. The government announces new regulations
The Ministry of Infrastructure is preparing amendments to regulations concerning the technical conditions of vehicles, aiming to prohibit the use of scooters that can exceed 20 km/h. Electric bicycles and scooters will also face restrictions if they assist beyond 25 km/h. The regulations will ban misleading modifications and devices that allow speed manipulation. The draft is currently under inter-ministerial consultations. Scooters exceeding speed limits may be classified as mopeds or motorcycles, requiring registration and insurance. The ministry is also working on strengthening oversight of vehicle homologation and introducing stricter penalties for non-compliance. Additionally, local governments may establish no-traffic zones for certain vehicles, and the ministry is considering mandatory insurance for scooters.
