Ukraine wants to replicate the humanitarian mission carried out in Olechky to save civilians elsewhere
In Ukraine, a humanitarian mission in Olechky resulted in a rare cooperation between Moscow and Kyiv, allowing for the evacuation of civilians. A local ceasefire facilitated the delivery of food and medicine, enabling the evacuation of around 750 out of 2,000 residents. While a quarter of evacuees chose to go to Russia, the majority returned to Ukraine, with some opting to stay in Olechky. Ukrainian human rights commissioner Dmytro Lubinets confirmed the significant humanitarian aid sent to the area.
