Executive compensation declines for the first time since 2010
The purchasing power of executives is declining, with a real salary drop of 3.6% according to APEC's latest report. This decline affects their job satisfaction, making salary increases a top priority for over half of them. The median gross annual salary for executives has decreased by nearly 2% to €54,000, marking only the second decline since 2007. In 2026, despite a 3.4% rise in consumer prices, less than half of executives received a raise, down from previous years.
