RC Lens suffers "a humiliation" against Como in the Champions League and continues its tumultuous start to the season

RC Lens faced a historic defeat, losing 1-9 to Como, marking the worst loss for a French team in European competitions. This match on November 4, 2026, at Bollaert-Delelis stadium echoed a similar defeat from 1940 against Marseille. Previously, Lens had suffered a heavy loss to Arsenal (0-6) in the Champions League, but this home defeat was particularly painful as it came against a team new to the competition.
