Ventilator business: evidence seized by the NNI at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The National Investigation Office (NNI) seized evidence related to ventilator procurement at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as announced by Foreign Minister Anita Orbán. The investigation by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) involves suspicions of budget fraud and money laundering, with over three billion HUF allegedly laundered. The suspects reportedly sold ventilators and medical masks to state agencies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Bálint Májer, former CEO of OTT-One, is wanted for his role in these transactions, despite the company previously not dealing with medical equipment. Two suspects were arrested at the end of October, one for accounting and another for withdrawing illicit funds.
