Letartóztatták a szerb különleges terrorellenes egység parancsnokát a tavalyi belgrádi tüntetéseken történt erőszak miatt
Igor Žmirić, the commander of Serbia's special anti-terrorism unit, was arrested due to violence during last year's protests in Belgrade. He is among five individuals detained by the Ministry of Interior's internal control department. The arrests also include four current and former members of the Unit for the Protection of Persons and Objects, involved in police actions during protests that injured students. The case is linked to the assault on Nikolina Sinđelić, who reported being attacked by masked men after a protest. Following Žmirić's arrest, the Ministry announced that a total of nine police officers are under investigation for assault and torture related to the incident.
