Leuven student union LOKO seeks recognition from Go Church after revelations about abuse

The Leuven student organization LOKO has revoked the recognition of Go Church following revelations of financial exploitation and sexual abuse. This decision was made by the subsidy committee after investigations by De Morgen and VRT NWS Pano. Go Church, previously known as Pleasant Surprise Church International, was recognized in 2021, allowing it to use KU Leuven facilities. However, it no longer meets the conditions set by LOKO, which include alignment with human rights and anti-discrimination laws. LOKO stated that the activities mentioned in recent reports were previously unknown to them. Go Church has 14 days to appeal the decision.
