The NASA space telescope has fallen, we show where it entered the atmosphere
NASA confirmed that the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory re-entered Earth's atmosphere over North Sumatra, Indonesia, on November 4. The 1452 kg spacecraft likely burned up mostly upon re-entry, though some debris may have survived. The observatory, launched in 2004, was designed to study gamma-ray bursts. Despite efforts to prolong its mission using a device called LINK, which failed, the Swift's fate was sealed. Its last observation occurred on October 20.
