Limburg nurse develops electric brush to better care for chronic wounds
Kristof Balliu, a nurse from Limburg, has developed an electric brush for cleaning chronic wounds more effectively. The brush is already available in the U.S. and is gaining interest in Asia, with plans for a European launch next fall. Balliu's idea stemmed from his military nursing experience, where he noticed that traditional cleaning methods often left bacteria behind, slowing healing. The electric brush can clean wounds thoroughly in under two minutes, making it accessible for non-specialized caregivers. Yarrow, the company he founded, received a €200,000 loan from the Limburg Reconversion Company to support its European expansion.
