Caixa profits grow 2.5% to 1.434 billion by September

Caixa Geral de Depósitos reported a profit of €1.434 billion from January to September, marking a 2.5% increase compared to the previous year. CEO Paulo Macedo highlighted a 7% growth in business volume, driven by significant increases in credit and customer resources. The bank noted a record in housing credit and a 12% annual rise in its credit portfolio, totaling approximately €56.9 billion. Despite a slight decrease in financial margin, the bank experienced a recovery trend over the year. Customer resources reached €105.3 billion, with a 2% growth, and commission levels remained stable due to fee exemptions.
