CGD profits rise 2.5% to 1.434 billion euros by September

Caixa Geral de Depósitos reported a profit of €1.434 billion from January to September, a 2.5% increase compared to the previous year. CEO Paulo Macedo highlighted a record in housing credit and a 7% growth in business volume. The bank's credit portfolio reached approximately €56.9 billion, marking a 12% annual increase. Client resources in Portugal totaled €105.3 billion, growing 2% in 2026. The financial margin decreased slightly, but there is a noted recovery trend over the year.
