A new event series called Hungarian Theatre Festival is starting

A new event series called the Hungarian Theatre Festival will start in 2027, organized in collaboration with the Miskolc National Theatre, the Hungarian Theatre Society, and the Municipality of Miskolc. The festival aims to create a platform for the entire Hungarian theatre community, building on the traditions of national theatre meetings. This initiative follows the discontinuation of the Pécs National Theatre Meeting (POSZT) in 2021, which faced criticism for its selection criteria. The new festival will welcome theatre companies from across the Carpathian Basin, regardless of their location or type, fostering inclusivity in the Hungarian theatre scene.
