The review committee is already working on the declassification of the encryptions

The review committee has started its work on reclassifying secret documents, according to Gergő Bendegúz Cseh, director of the Archives. Some documents will remain classified due to national security interests. Approximately 300 linear meters of documents from before the regime change are estimated to exist, with about 100 meters already transferred to the archives. The director emphasized that documents are also expected from private individuals to complete the collection. According to Péter Magyar, failing to submit relevant documents is considered a crime, and a six-month grace period is provided for individuals and institutions to submit state security files.
