Matolcsy completely refused to make a statement
Bátki Pál, Matolcsy György's lawyer, submitted a letter to the investigation committee before Thursday's meeting, stating that his client is currently under criminal investigation and in prison. He indicated that the judge may expand the charges, justifying the continuation of Matolcsy's detention. Bátki also asserted that Matolcsy will exercise his right to silence and refuse to make substantive statements regarding the investigation. He requested that the committee not question Matolcsy in person, and if they do, it should be in a closed session without media coverage.
